Captain Cloud's Rants and Raves on Music
Here is some collected stuff that is available on this web site.
- Hawkwind information
- Porcupine Tree information
- current discography of the great Swedish space rock band The Spacious Mind.
- some photos of The Spacious Mind that I took at Terrastock 5 in Boston in 2002.
- discography of German space rock band Grobschnitt
(quite a bit out-of-date now).
- setlists for live concerts by King Black Acid
(copied from another site that has since disappeared)
- I wrote a review of the two-day Strange Daze 1997 Festival and posted it to
the BOC-L email list. It was picked up by a german Hawkwind fanzine, and
also by Jim Lascko who (with some minor edits) has posted it on his
Strange
Trips web site. I have finally posted all three pieces of this review on my own site, as follows: first there was Saturday, which was followed by Sunday, and then finally the weekend ended with Hawkwind.
- pictures of friendly folks that I hung out with at the Strange Daze 1998 festival.
- pictures of more friendly folks that I hung out with at the Strange Daze 1999 festival.
This will be eventually followed with discussions revolving around the premier space /
psych / drone / trance / krautrock / GOA / prog bands of our time. The most important
bands of this ilk, in my opinion, include:
Hawkwind
Pink Floyd
Porcupine Tree
Ozric Tentacles
Eat Static
Monster Magnet
Kyuss
Dead Flowers
The Spacious Mind
With special mention to all of the following as well:
F/i, Vocokesh, SubArachnoid Space, Kinski, Strobe, Sun Dial, Bardo Pond, Mr Quimby's Beard,
King Black Acid, The Mike Gunn, Architectural Metaphor.
So, now you know what to expect!
